On August 21, 2008 17-year-old Jenny Snyder of Northbrook died of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) when she collapsed on a local soccer field in Glenview.

Saving Other Young Lives – Jenny’s Legacy
Thursday, August 11 the Jennifer Lynn Snyder Teen Heart Foundation is hosting the 2nd annual Bowling for Jenny event at Pinstripes, 1150 Willow Road, in Northbrook. The organization was founded in memory of Jenny and is raising funds to implement a Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) Program in Northbrook. A PAD program places publically accessible AEDs) throughout the community, while educating residents about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), AED use and the importance of an emergency action plan.

When Jenny collapsed, an AED,  Jenny’s only chance at survival, was not available on-site. Northbrook’s PAD Program will ensure that recreational areas where youth congregate are equipped with AEDs. It will also serve as a model of heart safety for communities throughout the state.
